New for 2026 - Blue springtails (Micro)
New Blue Springtails (yet to formally i.d)
Doing very well within the captive breeding program, deffinitely a slightly more unusual species and would prefer a well scaped enclosure with well cycled substrate/soil.
These beautiful blue springtails like to bloom and mate when its hot and humid.
They require a diet of well rotted mixed leaf litter and frass.
A very interesting addition to enclosures with water due to their grouping behaviour, forming a mass on the surface when conditions are right.
Higher temps and good sunlight/humidity balance
They are a micro variety and not to be mistaken for the poduromorpha tropical springtails you often see which can be quite large.
Collected and bred in Victoria, populations may increase and decrease quite drastically if keeping in a natural climate cycle with cooler months, a very cold winter is something they are clearly well adapted to.
Otherwise will happily breed year round.
